Cookie policy

Draft - for client review, not legal advice.

Last updated: 30 October 2026.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work. Others, such as analytics, are only set if you agree. This is required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). For how we handle personal data, see our privacy policy.

Cookies we use

Cookies set by this site
NameTypePurposeLasts
cc_cookieStrictly necessaryRemembers your cookie choice. Set when you make a choice, and needs no consent.182 days
_gaAnalyticsGoogle Analytics. Tells visits from different visitors apart. Set only after you accept.2 years
_ga_<ID>AnalyticsGoogle Analytics. Keeps session state. Set only after you accept. The ID is part of our Google Analytics property.2 years

If you reject analytics, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. We do not use advertising cookies.

Third-party requests

The site loads its own fonts, styles and scripts from the same host as the pages (GitHub Pages). Nothing is requested from Google until you accept analytics. After that, your browser contacts Google to load the analytics script and send usage data. If you send a form, your browser sends it to Web3Forms. See the privacy policy for what they receive.

Changing your choice

Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page to reopen the cookie settings and accept or reject analytics. Withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies.

Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Guidance is at ico.org.uk. Blocking cc_cookie means the banner will ask again on each visit.
